Helicon Works is a virtual collaborative, practicing architecture with a holistic complement of team members -  architects, landscape architect, renewable energy and energy-efficiency consult, green specifications consult, lighting designer specializing in low-energy solutions, feng shui consult, and a structural engineer.

Each project is a unique exploration, seeking (with the team's broad expertise) the most effective ecologically conscious response to the client and place.

Our services include:

  • Ecologically conscious/responsive architecture, landscape and interior design, including Feng Shui or intuitive energy balancing.
  • LEED certified -  moreover, we explore  all aspects of creating a home which is a healthy, organic part of its place.
  • Designing a comprehensive renewable energy system - exploring the nuances of creating net-low or zero energy homes.
  • Detailed green specifications for all components, insuring healthy homes and reused/renewable/local materials.
  • Storm water management plan integrated with beautiful eco-landscaping practices (including native plantings).
  • Home Energy audits, and green building consulting for any home or considered work.
  • Construction management -  we offer managers who coordinate all aspects of your home building, without the markup of a general contractor.  They work independent of Helicon Works (we don’t markup their fee).
  • Urban/suburban logging -  salvaging and milling locally felled trees, which we build cabinets and interior finishes.
  • Cabinet shop -  we build our client’s cabinets and millwork, from local wood and non-toxic finishes.
  • Educational workshops for creating a new home and exploring your life's journey of coming home (inner work). We also offer hands-on workdays, as an introduction to natural building methods such as strawbale and earthen plaster.
